Fifteen Local Teachers Receive Grants
Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative is happy to announce the recipients of its Clearly Brighter Teacher Grants. Each spring and fall semester, fifteen - $100 Clearly Brighter Grants are available to teachers and educators throughout its service territory. First implemented in 2001, these grants are intended to help local educators receive additional funding for special class projects. To date, Northwestern REC has awarded 300 Grants – totaling $30,000 – to local educators.
Grants have been awarded to the following teachers and their respective projects for the 2011 spring term:

As a community-oriented cooperative, Northwestern REC is dedicated to offering programs that help improve the quality of life. The teacher grant program is one way the Co-op reaches out to children – the members of tomorrow.
Educators in public and private schools, as well as home-school teachers, are invited to apply. Applications for the next granting period, fall 2011, will be accepted through May 1, 2011, and can be found online at www.northwesternrec.coop.
