Youth Tour Scholarship Winners

Officials from Northwestern Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. announce the selection of nine area high school juniors to receive the 2010 Youth Tour Scholarship. The Youth Tour Scholarship experience includes a week long stay in Washington D.C. visiting the museums, monuments and elected officials. The students also meet with their peers from throughout the United States to learn about the cooperative way of business.

“Winners were selected from numerous candidates on the basis of test scores and a personal interview, explained Mary Mulligan-Haines, Communications/Marketing Manager for Northwestern REC. Even for the students who are not selected the interview is a valuable experience for the individuals.”

The Youth Tour Scholarship winners are Amanda Suder from Cochranton High School; Seth Jones from Maplewood High School; Aaron Tipping from Cambridge Springs High School; Demarius Newsome and Claire Brautigam from Meadville High School and Andrew Czech from Corry High School and Molly Preston from Union City High School and Laura Sablak from Conneaut Valley High School and Dennis Stephen from French Creek Valley Christian School.
