Bob Davis
District 8 Director

Northwestern REC holds nominating meetings in the early spring time. In 2011, the following Cooperative member was re-elected by the membership to serve on Board of Directors. His term will last three years.

Robert Davis - District 8

Bob Davis has been a resident of Vernon Township for 49 years and a proud member of NWRECA for 46 years. After graduating from McKeesport High School in McKeesport, PA, he completed extensive management training for the G.C. Murphy Company and was transferred to Meadville in 1962. From Murphy's, he moved on to become the owner and operator of the Stag Bar and Grill in Meadville from 1965 to 1977 and was also a conductor for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad and Conrail from 1968 until 1977. Bob also operated a franchise for Gibble's Potato Chips. Bob then became the General Manager for Sandalini's in Meadville. From 1981 through the mid 1990's, Bob owned and operated a Perkins Family Restaurant, the Waterfront Restaurant, and The Franklin Depot. All in Venango County. Concurrently with his restaurant ventures, he developed Birchwood Exploration Oil and Gas wells. After 15 years of service, Bob retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections as a Foodservice Manager in 2007.

Bob has been active in the community as a Vernon Township Supervisor for 14 years and Chairman of the Board for 12 years. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors, and a member of the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries, serving Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania. Bob also volunteers on the Board of Directors of The Tri- State Saddle Horse Breeders Association, Inc., which hosts the annual Pink Ribbon Classic Charity Horse Show benefitting Breast Cancer Research through the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

His strong commitment to family shows in his marriage of 54 years to his wife Marian. The core value of the Davis family is unity—their three children and four grandchildren remain close to one another and close to home. They are members of Trinity Lutheran Church. They all reside in Vernon Township. The family's focal point has always been working together on our horse farm.

Board elections take place during Northwestern REC's Annual Meeting.
